It’s here and the objective of 10% of the Mediterranean sea placed in well managed Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) is not met.
There are of course disparities between countries but strong and enforced protection is overall vastly insufficient. Despite the fact that this kind of protection has been proved to be the driving force behind the ecological effectiveness of MPAs, it only represents today 0.06% of the Mediterranean.
