• The PIAQUO project, a LIFE+ funding programme of the European Commission, aims to reduce the impact of the maritime traffic noise on marine ecosystems through a series of practical solutions. •  A research project of the MARBEC laboratory (Montpellier University, France) is looking to characterise marine biodiversity through environmental DNA. They are missing about twenty species for which neither the online database (NCBI) nor their laboratory (Marbec / Montpellier) have tissues and are calling on MPAs for collaborations. Their objective is to design the most exhaustive genetic reference base possible with the 12S mitochondrial marker, and to estimate biodiversity using eDNA / metabarcoding technique. More details about the research project and the missing species. The documents are in French, but if you are interested by this topic please contact Franck Pichot – fran2a@hotmail.com.  The French Cap Corse and Agriate Natural Marine Park has been collaborating with this project for some time.
