The creation of new no-take zones is at the heart of this ambitious project bringing together eight direct partners (WWF – project leader, AGIR, HCMR, LIFE, MedPAN, Notre Grand Bleu, SPA/RAC, BlueSeeds), four indirect partners, and four associate partners.
The partners will provide a set of solutions to the pilot sites to improve the management and governance of existing no-take zones and MPAs in order to rebuild fish biomass and protect key habitats in 29 marine and coastal sites in the Mediterranean.
The project will combine in-depth fieldwork to support participatory management, as well as capacity building, networking, advocacy and financial transition at a regional level to amplify impact and increase reproductive potential, improve financial sustainability and ensure an adequate regulatory framework and effective implementation.
