Many Mediterranean MPAs face a recurrent lack of financial resources to carry out their missions: restoring vulnerable ecosystems and providing services to coastal communities.

To help MPA managers diversify their source of income, BlueSeeds has launched a practical guide on financing mechanisms. A webinar was organised presenting the guide, methodologies, and success stories of these financing mechanisms.

As visitor fees are one of the effective financing mechanisms for MPAs, BlueSeeds is launching a programme to support and assist MPA managers in the Mediterranean in implementing visitor fee systems. This programme lasts for 1 year and will be launched from July 2021. You can now send your application and benefit from this support programme.

Through this programme, BlueSeeds will lead you, step-by-step, through the different processes resulting in the final implementation of visitor fees in your MPA.

Application deadline: 23rd of May, 2021, 12.00 (midnight) Paris time.
Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
Programme starting date: 1st July 2021

This programme is part of the Co-managed No-Take Zones/MPAs project, funded by the MAVA Foundation, of which MedPAN is part in collaboration with SPA/RAC, WWF, AGIR, LIFE Platform, Notre Grand Bleu, HCMR.
