Following MedPAN’s 2018 Calls for Small Projects (Regular Call and Specific Call on Habitat Mapping), 10 projects have been selected and are starting their activities this month, covering the following themes:
- MPA management and Integrated Coastal Zone Management
- Sustainable management of fisheries
- Sustainable tourism
- Solid waste management
- Habitat mapping
- Climate change mitigation
As a reminder, a 3rd Call for Small Projects is still in progress (with the support of the MAVA Foundation) and this until 30 September 2019. It targets the sustainable management of marine turtles by MPAs. More details on the Call for Small Projects page.

The projects were selected following a 2-step process and a rigorous evaluation (see the rules of the current Call for Small Projects for an example). The projects selected have a duration of 6 to 12 months and are financed by the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM), the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation or the MAVA Foundation. The overall budget for the 10 projects amounts to 150 000 euros.
