Launched in 2021, the ALIEN Occitanie Network is interested in Non-Indigenous Marine Species of the Mediterranean coast of France. It is coordinated by an association that supports ecological transition: CPIE Bassin de Thau (https://www.cpiebassindethau.fr/) and a public institution: Office Francais de la Biodiversité (https://ofb.gouv.fr/).
This network, called ALIEN Occitanie, has the following objectives:
- Inform the general public about the issues and consequences linked to non-indigenous marine species
- Facilitate the reporting of observations of Non-Indigenous Marine Species by citizens via participatory science
- Contribute to federating Mediterranean stakeholders around this subject.
It is within the framework of this latter objective that MedPAN is relaying this questionnaire. It is intended for managers of Marine Protected Areas and port managers throughout the Mediterranean basin.
The main objective of this work is to identify the actions taken to manage non-native marine species within your action territory, as well as the associated obstacles and levers . The outcome of this work is to produce a collection of experiences that will be disseminated within the framework of the Invasive Alien Species Resource Centre run by the OFB and IUCN (http://especes-exotiques-envahissantes.fr/).

The estimated time to complete this questionnaire is 15 mn.
