The Pelagos Sanctuary is a maritime area of 87,500 km² which is the subject of an agreement between France, Italy and Monaco for the protection of the marine mammals that frequent it.

Five three-year research programmes, financed by the French Ministry of Ecology, were spread over the periods 2003-2005, 2007-2009, 2010-2012, 2014-2016, 2017-2019, completed by an annual programme in 2013. They have made it possible to acquire and deepen knowledge of the biology of species and the impact of human activities.

Priority topics have been defined according to several criteria, in particular: the level of knowledge of species and human activities, potential threats to species, the priorities of the French Party, the urgency of the topic, the intrinsic risks of the studies, all in close connection with the tripartite interest.
The proposed research topics may or may not relate to these themes.

You will find the themes and modalities in this call for proposals. (In French only)
